FULL-TIME AUTOMOTIVE TECHNOLOGY INSTRUCTORS

The Tennessee College of Applied Technology in Memphis is accepting applications for two (2) full-time Automotive Technology instructor positions for the Bartlett and Main campus.   

Minimum Requirements:

  • Technical diploma required, associate degree preferred
  • Three (3) years of experience in the Automotive Technology field, preferably within the last five (5) years
  • Must possess good communications and computer skills
  • Knowledge of safety practices, tools, materials, diagnosing, and repairing the various automotive systems
  • Must show evidence of good character, organizational skills, and mature attitude
  • Must be willing to remain current in the field and maintain ASE Master certifications
  • Must obtain ASE Master status within one year of hire date
  • Prior teaching or evidence of ability to teach students is a plus

Responsibilities and Duties include:

  • Providing individualized theory and hands-on instruction
  • Monitor, grade and evaluate individual student progress
  • Maintain student records in the college’s student records management system
  • Submit reports timely
  • Assist in recruitment and placement of students
  • Maintain industry advisory committee
  • Maintain good relationships with business and industry partners
  • Supervise and follow up with students participating in cooperative education
