About
The mission of the Aviation Maintenance Technology program is to train students for employment as Airframe and Power Plant Maintenance Mechanics. Using FAA approved classroom instruction and practical shop experience, students are taught sheet metal repair, and how to inspect, repair, and service hydraulic engine overhaul for both piston and turbine engines. Graduates are eligible to sit for the FAA licensure examinations for the airframe and power plant ratings. TCAT Memphis offers both Full-time and Part-time classes for the Aviation Maintenance Technology program.

The TCAT Aviation Extension Campus is located at
3435 Tchulahoma Rd. Memphis, TN 38118.
We host weekly tours every Friday at 10:00am, with the exception of holidays.
No reservations required, but please arrive no later than 9:45am. Bring your official high school transcript, HSE documentation, with you, and we will schedule your WIN Assessment on the spot.

Program Credentials
Admission Prerequisites
To enroll in the Aviation Maintenance Technology program, students must complete the following steps:
1. Apply for the TCAT Memphis Aviation Maintenance Technology program through the TCAT Memphis website.
2. Submit an official high school transcript or High School Equivalency (HSE) documentation to the Aviation Campus OR send via email to Aviation Admissions.
High school seniors may submit a Letter of Intent from their high school counselor in lieu of a transcript until graduation. Upon graduation, an official transcript must be submitted.
3. Schedule and complete the WIN Career Readiness Assessment.
The WIN Assessment is a comprehensive career-readiness exam which includes sections on math, reading, and data. Students must earn a minimum score of 3.

4. Complete the FAFSA application and include TCAT Memphis- School Code: 005360
5. Attend New Student Orientation once scheduled.
6. Purchase required books, uniforms, and tools prior to the start of class.
